love, taito free om noms so lie to me and tell me we'll make it through the night normally, tristan could handle boredom. normally. but today just seemed like a day that would end up with him laying on his dingy couch and playing games by himself. it'd only been a few moons since his encounter in the forest, and already, the excitement had worn off. What a shame.
but now here he was, scattering old potato chips from the forest all the way to his house like a reverse hansel and gretel fairy tail. he didn't want to find his way back home from the forest; rather, he wanted someone from the forest to come to him. as far as he knew, that bear seemed to enjoy food, right? and it wasn't like he had many other connections. since it was the middle of the day, most of the kids were at school, and he just wanted to relax with a friend. and most of his friends were dead. so hey, time to make a new one.
once he had finished his trail, tristan locked all of the doors in his house but left one window cracked. thankfully there was a cool breeze blowing through, but even for him, it was a little chilly. so he tossed a blanket carelessly to the floor and set out a feast for a bear: leftover turkey, twice-baked potatoes, a tray of rolls, white and brown gravy, corn on the cob, and an entire dish of rice. hopefully that would be enough to entice the spirit along. if not, at least he knew what he was having for lunch. ulla

Intensely. This was too convenient, and weird, and damnit why did he have to be addicted to fucking junk food? There’s no way someone just had a bag of chips out and it just leaked in such a neat line for such a stretch.
But the ants hadn’t found them yet, and even if they had he’d probably still eat them. Free protein and all. Granted actually picking each one off the ground to eat them was a chore for the human mouth.
A semi translucent bear took over, larger tongue and mouth pretty much vacuuming them up as he followed their trail. The salt was starting to burn his tongue, but he refused to stop until the other smells hit him. And they were coming from the end of the ‘rainbow’.
This was wrong. Nobody does this by accident. Maybe some sociopath that liked luring small animals into his house to slowly squeeze the life out of. Or a child trying to convince a dog to come over and visit. Either way this was some sort of trap.
Well they wouldn’t be expecting a bear’s giant snoz to force it’s way through the open window. He shoved up, pushing the glass and wood aside as he forced his entire head in. Unfortunately his shoulders weren’t going to fit into the tiny space and he let out a rather fierce sounding cry. He hoped he was scaring the shit out of whoever was home.
He’d gone invisible to change into his human form, slipping in a lot easier. It wasn’t until he was kneeling at the spread that he even noticed the other person in the room.

love, taito free om noms so lie to me and tell me we'll make it through the night "huh," tristan muttered once the bear spirit had made his way into the room. "i wasn't sure if this would work or not... but it looks like it did."
he was honestly surprised, especially since his own scent slathered the area, but hey, if that's all it took to catch a bear, then he was alright with it.
"don't eat everything, though." he raised a fork and knife that he held in his hands as his head tilted. "this is for the both of us, after all."
without much more, he plopped himself down and started carving off pieces of the turkey, not truly caring one way or another if the other decided to eat at all. "mm," he muttered in realization between bites, "sorry that those chips were so stale. they were the only thing i had that would make a decent path." he chewed thoughtfully. "also, i have a few video games, and you're interesting enough to get video ideas from, so please, stay as long as you'd like."
he nodded, pleased with himself, then the resumed the meal, glad to at least have someone else in the house now. ulla

How did he not suspect it was a trap meant specifically for him? Just because Behemoth stuck to the woods didn’t mean he didn’t have his share of stalkers in the city. That damn stinky kid for one, but he hadn’t known the crow lived in the town as well.
As much as his stomach was telling him to just forget about it, eat and enjoy, he resisted. Running with a full belly was difficult and there was always the chance the creature before him wanted to poison him. Though he was still unsure of what to do, so he just sat there and glared instead, teeth bared.
What the hell was a videogame?

love, taito it'll be gone soon~ so lie to me and tell me we'll make it through the night tristan munched happily at the spread and watched as the other stayed frozen and waiting to either fight or flight.
"hey," the crow said, raising his shoulders in a shrug. "can't we just put that whole chasing thing to the side for now and enjoy lunch? although now that you're here, if you do run, it'll be easy and quite enjoyable to go out and find you again. just face it: you're stuck with me for now, so you may as well enjoy yourself while you're here."
he chewed again, then realized.
"unless you think i'm just that bad of a cook. don't worry, though; i learned how to work a fire before modern stoves were invented, so i've gotta hand it to myself. i'm a damn good chef when i want to be. here, try this." he held out a nice-sized leg from the turkey and waved it at the bear. "just don't bite my arm off; i hear crow doesn't taste very good, after all."
