BEHEMOTH You knew the game and played it, it kills to know that you have been defeated, I see the wires pulling while you're breathing. TAG @name WORDS 000 NOTES good luck! | And in the end, regardless of race, species or whatever, they decided that bloodshed was the worst option.
Of course it always was in the end, something Behemoth wanted to always avoid at all costs. But they were growing restless again, the more fickle spirits who were sensitive to those children who flooded into the town during those consecutive late summer months. It never really mattered to the guardian, who busied himself caring for the young of the forest and keeping an eye on the lovely little humans who wandered too far. Sure he was cautious, too many missing people in a town made them suspicious and he had enough trouble keeping the mayor away from his tree line.
Speaking of the tree line...
Behemoth's gaze swept close to the edge, glancing over that obnoxious mansion he despised so dearly and passed the abandoned railroad tracks. There was something interesting he could feel in his forest and despite usually knowing what was going on, his head was abuzz with the happiness of young fae blooming from their flowers.
Standing from his throne - a tree grown and twisted into an ancient seat - and sped through the forest, hiding in the shadow of one of the old whispering trees he admired so dearly. Gaze sharpening on the anomaly, he grinned sharply with a predatory look in his eyes.

Martyn had felt a little more sluggish that morning, that whole day, due to the late summer heat that always bore down on the forest. He didn’t like oversleeping, he barely had the will to move when he saw a couple of picnickers exploring near today’s bed. He had lazed just under a large tree’s roots that had been dug out by something or another, possibly eroded by rain. It has been dark and cool, exactly what he needed.
But the voices drew close, closer before setting up under the shade of the tree. While their backs were turned he had slunked out, invisible, one clawed hand slipping towards their packed lunch and swiping one of the sandwiches.
And there he sat on a rock, nose too full of cheap deli meat and cheese to even sense that there was something lurking nearby. It overlooked the town at a decent height, very visible to both the surrounding lands and the townsfolk who decided to look up. Though he used the last bit of his energy to keep himself clear.
Still, even though he knew no one could see him there was this crippling sense of dread coming over him. A tingle on his neck, exposed with his hood down. It was making him anxious, which in turn was making him angry.

BEHEMOTH You knew the game and played it, it kills to know that you have been defeated, I see the wires pulling while you're breathing. WORDS 000 NOTES good luck! | Hmmm it was Martyn.
Behemoth grinned wider, all sharp teeth and hunger. His gaze roamed over the other spirit, and he slid closer to the clearly distracted bear. Distracted enough not to hear the leaves whispering as the trees tittered in amusement. How lovely.
Martyn was one of his more favored spirits in the forest, something something masculinity and raw power.
Behemoth mostly liked the way he moved, and how soft his fur was. His fluffy hair in human form was attractive as well, when he could pin down the spirit to touch it. He chuckled, rumbling low in his chest as he wrapped his arms around Martyn's middle. He slid his nose up Martyn's cheek, lids low and fingers flexing gently.
"Martyn...how lovely it is to see you..." His light voice trickled out like the streams that ran crystal clear. "You know if you stayed closer you wouldn't have to steal from those humans hmm? It's surely been too long since you were closer to the center of the forest, you really should return."

The initial touch made him freeze, all hairs standing on end. As soon as he recognized those arms his human hands and teeth vanished and he roared. The touch to his cheek he forcefully turned away from it, teeth bared and already snarling. Perhaps a tasmanian devil or a wolverine would have been a more appropriate animal, because at the moment Martyn was foaming.
“Don’t touch me!” He dug his claws into the giant beasts arms, literally pushing himself up and out of the circle they formed. “The fuck would I want with your stupid tree food anyway?” Martyn was always edging back, keeping his eyes locked onto Behemoth, irises blown wide with adrenaline.
Hell, if this guy-thing was keeping tabs on his whereabouts, was his cave compromised? Damnit, he had such a hoard in there too. It’d take days to move it all, not to mention the time to find a new location. At this rate he’d have to move into the city just to guarantee his home didn’t get invaded by this tree.
Still, whether it was doomed or not, he couldn’t run towards it. Feinting to the left, Martyn lunged to the right and just ran for it. He didn’t go fully animalistic, preferring the dexterity the humanoid form gave him while still being able to claw at the trees in his anger. He knew better than to think they weren’t on that creature's side.

love, taito i approve of this all so lie to me and tell me we'll make it through the night today had been quite a nice one for the crow. the weather was a gorgeous shade of grey, his video for the week had been edited and posted, and now, it was time for some fresh air. he still hadn't gotten used to the tiny town, but so far, he'd been enjoying most of it. he had thought that the quietness would get to him, but it had honestly been a welcome change to his otherwise hectic life.
smiling, tristan made his way through the lush forest, and his heavy boots made quite a splendid sound as he trodded through the grass. a gentle sigh escaped his nose as he breathed in the dense air. this was definitely a good place for him to spend some time in. it'd let him recharge before he went out all crazy and guns-blazing into a human-heavy city again. speaking of which, he was quite surprised by how many other spirits were here. it wasn't like he didn't enjoy spirits, but... he definitely loved his little human race and their fleeting lifespans.
lips pursed for only a moment before he heard a masculine yell ringing through the forest, but... it sounded like he was frightened? curious, the crow flitted his way over to the scene only to peek behind a few trees at the gorgeous men just before one fled the scene. he didn't even try to stifle a laugh as he approached the clearing, hands happily resting in his pockets. "and what have i stumbled onto here, may i ask?" ulla

BEHEMOTH You knew the game and played it, it kills to know that you have been defeated, I see the wires pulling while you're breathing. WORDS 000 NOTES good luck! | "Why Martyn I'm offended!"
He laughed lightly, smoothly stepping away from the spooked bear. His arms healed up rather quickly, filling without any syrupy blood spilling from his veins. One of the perks of being an ancient guardian. Also, stupid tree food? What did that even exactly mean? Either way he placed a hand over where humans typically held important organs - hearts? - and sighed dramatically.
"Oh Martyn how you wound me so. I thought you liked berries?"
He chuckled lowly as the bear ran, amused that he seemed to try and fake out the guardian. Considering Behemoth was one to use his surroundings and not flat out chase until the prey got too far.
But he was distracted.
He glanced at the crow, smiling if a bit dramatically once more and touching his forehead.
"It seems a very naughty bear has escaped my zoo, care to help me recapture him? He's quite important to me, he's endangered you know."
Plus Behemoth could smell that human reek all over him, what on earth had he been rolling in?

He wasn’t about to hide under some of his favorite trees, or climb them. He wasn’t sure if they could in fact communicate, but hell he wasn’t about to risk it. That weirdo seemed to find him easily enough as it was.
The scent of water flowed through his senses. Right, that might help. Martyn made a mad dash towards the quickly flowing stream, jumping right into it and taking a cold swim. Bastard didn’t control water, and maybe the stream would be enough to throw off his scent. Perhaps block his sight from any tree spies.
Could this day seriously get any worse? He wasn’t about to screech it outloud, both wary of being followed and from tempting the fates. Didn’t need the damn spirit of luck appearing just to ruin his fucking day.

love, taito let's do this~ so lie to me and tell me we'll make it through the night it looks like he'd finally found something interesting.
tristan could tell that this spirit was much, much older than him... but by how much he wasn't certain. there was a parental aura almost radiating from him, though, and the crow was comforted by it. the request was met with a nod. "of course. not like i have anything better to do, after all."
within seconds, feathers began sprouting from the crow's human body as he removed his clothing, not caring much who was watching. by the time he'd entered his true form, the remainder of his clothes almost melted off as they flopped into a messy pile, and tristan quickly took off into the air as he felt the rush of a new game.
"Caw!" he cried, hearing rustling in the forest, and he swooped hastily towards its position. sadly, it seemed to be just a squirrel spirit who hadn't realized its true potential yet. pity. he'd have to come back and meet with her soon. for now, though, his focus was on finding the bear and bringing him to the large creature.
he continued his search, delving into and out of the trees until he picked up on a scent. not certain if it was the runaway's or not, he hovered in place, trying to discern who it belonged to. with not much else to go on, he decided to follow it before it somehow... stopped?
a river. how clever.
if tristan had lips in this form, they would have curled upwards. instead, though, he satisfied himself with flying in circles, trying to see if there were any anomalies in the current. where had this man gotten to?
after a few seconds of scanning the place, he darted towards a direction, thinking he saw a human figure splashing downstream. at least the other was smart enough to know to not fight the current. ulla

BEHEMOTH You knew the game and played it, it kills to know that you have been defeated, I see the wires pulling while you're breathing. WORDS 000 NOTES good luck! | This was far too much fun to be fair. Behemoth smiled, straightening the pile of clothes the crow had left behind. What an adorable little spirit, and new surely as Behemoth knew every spirit in the small realm he called home. Following idly behind the large guardian listened to the whispering trees, following their directions and the sounds of the crow spirit cawing in the distance. Reaching the river he sighed, was it really worth all the effort to go find Martyn if he was running so determinedly?
It was. Simply because he was so fun if anything.
The fawn hummed gently and grinned, revealing sharp predatory teeth. Launching himself forward he skipped ahead, whistling to the crow to let him know he was following. He could spot Martyn ahead, practically smell the anger radiating off of him. But what was he going to do when he caught the bear?
Questions that could be answered later. Most people were pliant after a good....massage.
Humming softly to the trees, he watched with satisfaction as they bent and fell to block Martyn's path, creating a dam up ahead that would surely slow him down.

The crowing above him didn’t strike him as anything unusual, but the dam of trees ahead certainly was. The current was slowly pulling him towards the blockage even as he stopped swimming.
His anger had actually cooled in the water, though he was positive that this was another stunt straight from the Behemoth. Digging his claws into the bark of the trees he pulled himself out of the water and sat for a moment. Shaking the water out of his hair and fur like a dog, he used the trees like a bridge and moved on to the shore, continuing to move away from the bastard.
It became more apparent than ever that he was hungry, he mourned the sandwich left behind. There wasn’t much else to do except keep moving. Though he spent a good portion of his breath swearing out the forest as well.
Now that he thought about it, wasn’t that mansion around here somewhere? Man made buildings tended to drive off the beast.

love, taito huehue so lie to me and tell me we'll make it through the night the wind under tristan's wings was very calming and helped to keep his mind sharp. the energized whistle was enough of a signal for him to realize that the giant was following after them as well. thankfully he wasn't out here doing this on his own. after all, a game of tag was much more enjoyable with more people.
he breathed deeply, enjoying the crisp air of the northwest for a moment before letting out another loud caw as he watched the bear clamber onto the dam. he circled again, catching just how close the large spirit was and could have grinned if his beak would upturn.
once the bear made his way off of the dam, tristan darted downwards and flitted onto his shoulder, talons grasping the new perch only enough to keep him latched on comfortably. with another guttural call aimed away from the other's ear, he let the spirit know that the target was within reach. he only needed to change back to a human form to apprehend him, but for now, he would wait for direction. ulla

WORDS 000 NOTES good luck! | The game came to a screeching halt for a moment as Behemoth realized he was heading toward that dreadful mansion. That eye sore in the middle of his precious forest, so cold and abandoned. He frowned harshly, simply wanting to keep the bear away from that place rather than his original teasing plan now. Concerned much like a parent for their unruly child he pushed ahead faster, actually trying.
Hearing the crow and sending the breeze warm and sweet as a thanks, he changed course and suddenly appeared in front of Martyn, knowingly having perhaps cheated a bit. Either way his face was set with worry and with discontent, and he took a hold of Martyn.
"Now why would you head for that atrocious place? It's a danger and the woman inside is a menace."
