twenty five | human | male | heterosexual | medical student a p p e a r a n c e An averagely thin figure over six feet tall, Joshua might appear to be your typical university student, usually garbed in casual comfort consisting of buttoned shirts with rolled-up sleeves underneath a simple sweater, khakis, and ordinary boat shoes. Ocassionally, he might accentuate his daily outfit with a half-zipped hoodie in case the weather in Seaside experiences its usual rainy days. However, if the weather turns a leaf for the colder months, Joshua dons warm duffle coats and a pair of boots. All in all, outfits that are very common on the northern Pacific shores. His hair is usually pretty messy, despite his efforts to tame it without a trip to the barbershop. Also, he has quite a prominent nose and strong jawline, making him more masculine for his age. However, his eyes betray his manly expression due to his soft eyes, usually hidden behind a pair of glasses during his studies. p e r s o n a l i t y Positive

h i s t o r y Born and raised in Seattle, Washington for a time, Joshua Nishida is a fourth-generation Japanese American and only child. He lived with his mother for most of his childhood, seeing his father from time to time. Of course, at the time, he didn't know his parents were divorced and separated which made it hard on the family. Provided with very little, the boy worked hard with his father's encouragement and mother's care, studying feverishly to make them proud. Of course, this had worked once he graduated from high school, marking it as the most cherished moment when he saw his mother and father together with a smile. From there, he proceeded to attend college courses, doing the same work diligently matched with the enthusiasm. However, if there was one uncommon occurrence, it was meeting a girl. At first, he couldn't believe it to be true for someone as dorky as him talking with such a beautiful woman his age. They were freshmen at the same college, attending the same biology class and meeting up for lunch together. Eventually, they grew closer as time went on until the bad news struck them both on their third semester. Emily, the girl he had been sharing notes and food with was diagnosed with glioblastoma; a malignant tumor found upon her spine. This news really bothered Joshua because he felt as though he loved this girl, wanting to care for her. So, while it was still in its earlier stages, Joshua confessed his love for Emily and married during their college years. While they happy with each other, Emily wasn't able to keep up with her school, suddenly making the decision to drop from school due to her worsening condition and asked Joshua to move with her to Seaside - her hometown where her family resided. For her, he did so without hesitation, transferring to Bellesong University in effort to stay with his young wife. Unfortunately, the days are getting closer for Emily, being hospitalized at St. James Hospital while he tried his hardest from falling victim to depression and fighting hard to believe there is hope and peaceful for his wife. This however, has taken a spiritual toll upon Joshua, dismissing the idea of an afterlife or happiness beyond passing, unknowingly making him selfishly cling to his wife and the memories they shared.
