19 | spirit (bear) | male | Pansexual | Irritant/scare monger a p p e a r a n c e As an animal spirit, he general sticks with his more humanoid form when he's actually trying to bother people. He gives off the appearance of some sort of barbarian, wearing his own pelt on his head and claw like weapons tucked into his hands. Leather boots he's seen some hunters wear were added on more recently. Animal wise, he takes on the appearance of a brown bear, fully grown to stand at just under seven feet. There's no gentle look in his eyes, no extra glimmer to his fur, he's just a plain ol'bear. The partial form he doesn't take on often, but usually it's less cute and more fierce, merging his claws and teeth onto the humanoid form. He can roar like this, having the lung capacity and proper cords for it. p e r s o n a l i t y Nosy- Martyn likes to get in everyone's business, sneaking around to learn people's secrets and the town gossip. He thrives on it, and knowing how to bother people with the information. Adventurous- Sort of the other end of nosy, he likes wandering around for exciting things when the town is being particularly boring. This means he tends to seek out trouble as well, just to do something. Playful- He likes to set up pranks. This is where all that sneaky information gathering comes around. He's generally not into full blown destruction Maternal- Strangely protective of young kids, and smaller animals. He's a big momma grizzly with the proper rage-mode intact. Greedy- More dragon like than bear, he tends to hoard things. Anything, not just money or jewels or food. Have a broken lawn chair? He'll take it, and use it somehow. Sarcastic- Saying anything mildly stupid around him will warrant a sarcastic response. Even talking to himself will end up becoming such. Stubborn- When he thinks he's right, it's very hard to sway his opinion or to keep him from continuing to try something. Imply that he 'can't' do it and it'll only get worse. Aggressive- He's quick to snap, quick to get involved in fights, and he's pretty ferocious about it. A few minutes in a cold stream helps occasionally, and if he's not actually in the mood to hurt said object of his frustrations, he'll just run off and tear something else apart. h i s t o r y His visible age correlates with his actual age. He woke up as a young bear cub without a parent to be found and wandered the woods, noticing that pretty much no one paid him much mind. Animals didn't seem particularly bothered by him and humans just didn't seem to notice him. It didn't take him long to start bothering people in the park. The park may not be ancient per se but it certainly attracted a lot of weirdness and a lot of people. Flashing in and out of visibility, he liked to snatch people's picnics and lunches away, stringing table cloths up in trees to look like ghosts. It took a few years of getting better at changing forms before he risked venturing into the town. It became a game to see how much damage he could cause and then vanish, leaving no one the wiser, particularly because at the time he looked like a human child. Still, he only ventures into town to bother the folks, as he's made his home in the park, though it can be very hard to find him. Secret coves, caves, dug out burrows under giant trees, he's good at sleeping anywhere and takes advantage of it. He doesn't like letting people know he's 'real'. If everyone just up and left, he'd be lonely but able to survive. "those marks are just a sign of something true." |
