“by a moonlight shadow” Sydney's eyes closed, as she was in her natural form for the moment, hiding up in a tree. She did not want a human or even another spirit to see her this way. Obviously the young woman was going to try very hard to hide the fact she was a spirit. To her, she wanted to be a human again, but there wasn't anyway to reverse what she had done. She touched the black ring around her neck and flinched. She understood that this was her punishment for doing something so horrible to herself when she was living. To walk the earth, yearning for what she took away from herself. Any dreams she could have had. They were gone.
She knew this to well. Even so tried to stay optimistic and happy. She was like that in her life too. No different other than the strong feelings of resentment for how she went out of her human life. Which thinking about it, she was surprised. She never thought even in death she could retain her old self. But she did. Shaking her head she went back to her human for before anyone saw the bruised up, her eyes glazed over, and the ring around her neck. She looked around with her golden brown eyes enjoying the view around.
It sure was incredibly pretty! Even that she could enjoy. Even the breeze she could feel in this form. I guess it was like another way of living? But just being something different now? She wasn't going to let her thoughts linger on this too much. She reached down, grabbing the branch below her lowering herself out of it, falling right on her butt. She bite her lip and yelped at the impact. She rubbed her lower back. Like how in the earth could this hurt her? She never understood this. That this form could feel. Maybe another way to torture her for what she did? Who knows. She leaned back against the trunk of the tree. Her golden locks of caramel hair fell in front of her shoulders in a beautiful array.
This sure would be a peaceful time for a nap? She hated how everytime her thoughts questioned all this human stuff. It wasn't something she needed to do. But even so, it made her feel more human. |

YOU SAID YOU LOVE ME.
WHAT BECOMES OF MY HEART?  The Point was said to be a terrifying place. Having to trek through the woods to get to the beautiful overlook of the city, to see the ocean ebb and flow off in the distance. As scary as the woods may be, the prospect of getting to kiss your beloved with this beautiful sight behind you was worth it. Or so she thought. Lynn sighed softly, clutching her bag closely to her as she trekked down the trail to the Point. She had no one to love. There was no one for her to kiss on this beautiful afternoon. It didn't matter at this point; she had almost reached the summit and the overlook, and there was no turning back. A yelp had made her limbs stiffen and she stopped in her tracks. It sounded human, and not like an animal creeping about in the woods. Her legs dared to move once more and she quickened her pace to the opening of the trees, where before her lay Seaside Point, the prettiest place in all of Seaside. On the ground was a young woman, who was rubbing her back. Did she fall, perhaps? Lynn stood frozen for a moment, unsure of what she should do. But her slightly heavy breathing and gasp of shock might have been a giveaway that she was there. It was to late to turn back now. Swallowing her insecurity for a moment, she bent down as she stepped closer to the girl. A hand fluttered away from her bag as if to reach and touch her shoulder, but it never made contact. "Hey, are you okay?" she finally dared to speak. "Did you fall?" By this time, the girl had leaned herself against the tree. Was she so injured that she couldn't stand, and needed this tree for support? Oh, my. “by a moonlight shadow” Sydney's eyes were just about to close, when she heard a gasp of shock. Her golden orbs looked around and immeaditely gazed upon a woman. She looked close to her age, well maybe younger. A small vibration went through her own body, one that wouldn't noticable. She knew this meant that this girl was feeling some negative emotion. She couldn't pinpoint what one in her human form, but she knew she had to calm her down. She dusted herself a bit, still sitiing in place. She was clothed in a typical pair of jeans, and t-shirt. Nothing to special.
" I'm okay. I was sitting up in that tree. " she pointed to the tree behind her, lightly tapping the bottom of it's trunk and continued, " I was trying to get down and fell right on my butt. Kinda hurt for a moment, but I'm good now. " she rubbed the back of her own neck with a smile. It still did hurt, but she didn't worry her over something as simple as her rump being a little sore. It was to be expected with a small fall like that. She smiled a cute genuine smile as she looked over the other woman before her. She seemed nice enough.
" Thank you for worrying about me though. " she smiled still. It wasn't everyday she got to interact with something. She recently came here, herself. More so trying to blend in than anything. Even though she loves socializing. She did have that fear of someone finding out she was a spirit. Though to her that was lesser fear compared to the one she had if someone found out how she became a spirit. That was her real fear. She extended her hand to the girl smiling.
"By the way, my name is Sydney Rhodes. It's nice to meet a friendly face like yours. " She smiled waiting for a reply. Who knows? Maybe she could meet a new friend?

WHAT BECOMES OF MY HEART? To some, climbing trees was no big deal. Sometimes people did it for fun. But that wasn't Lynn's idea of fun. But it did make sense as to why she was rubbing her back, and it made Lynn feel a bit more at ease, to which she sighed a small sigh of relief. "That's good. I am glad you're okay," she said as she straightened her back. A thanks for worrying about someone was not something she was used to, and it made her blink in confusion at first, but then a sheepish smile spread across her light pink lips and she glanced away. "It... Ah... You're welcome," she managed to say, before looking back to the girl. She was smiling, seemed friendly and was even extending a hand out to her. Shyness melted for a moment to reciprocate this act of courtesy. "My name is Lynn Nordstroem. It's nice to meet you," she said softly as she took the girl's hand in her own. She hoped her hand wasn't too cold. She had a problem with her circulation, and oftentimes her fingers and toes would feel chillier than normal. Or at least that's the reason she'd give if quesionted about her cold digits. She really had no idea why they were cold, even in the warmest of weather. Retreating her hand back to the comfort of the strap on her bag, she peered through the opening of the trees to see the rest of the city spread out before them. They had not yet breached the line between forest and Seaside Point, which made her take a step closer to her true destination. But then it dawned on her. Most people did not come out here just because. This place was a place for romance, where couples would meet up to have a romantic getaway. Lynn stopped her movements bit her bottom lip. "Oh, I am not interrupting anything, am I? If you are waiting for someone, I can go," she requested. It would be a shame to have hiked all that way just to turn around and go back, but she would do so if Sydney was expecting someone. “by a moonlight shadow” Sydney smiled softly. It was always nice to meet someone new! When the girl took her hand, sure it was a bit cold but it didn't bother in the least. She only nodded, " It's nice to meet you as well Lynn. " She let go of her hand, and stood up dusting off her clothes a bit. As she looked out towards the view. It was gorgeous. Which was why she had come up. It was true what they had said about this place. It really was quite the sight to see.
As she was caught up staring at the scenery around her, she heard Lynn's voice. She looked at her and shook her hands in a no indication, " Nah, I'm not waiting for anyone. I know this is place is known for well... " She trailed off rubbing her neck a bit, with a sheepish smile.
" I don't have a romantic interest, especially one I would be waiting for. I'm what you'd call a single pringle, I guess." She shrugged her shoulders. It didn't bother her too much. Sure love was a very desirable thing, but even so she was a spirit so something like that she didn't know if she could obtain it. Especially through the secrets she hid about herself and her death. So it would probably be hard for her to find that someone if she wasn't so willing to share that information with anyone.
It was hard for her trying to blend in as a human. Well she was human, just a human spirit, " Though what about you? You waiting for anyone special? " She asked in a curious tone. Was she meeting someone? She looked over her. Well she was a very pretty girl. So it would be no surprise if she was. If she wasn't, than Sydney was sure that she would someday find that person. She twirled a strand of her own caramel brown hair between her fingers as she looked out.
" Though you have to admit. This place is absolutely beautiful. " She closed her eyes, taking a deep breath of the fresh air, sighing a contented sigh.
