Frances (Fin) Von'tale |
64 | spirit (water/fish) | male | homosexual | seashell collector a p p e a r a n c e In his human form, Fin is tall, slender, and completely awkward. He will throw on whatever clothes happen to be nearby, and he doesn't pay much mind to the thing humans call style. Since he is hardly ever in his human form, he doesn't care what he is wearing, as long as it covers him. When Fin is his spirit form, he takes the form of a merman. He has a greenish/blue tail and refuses to ever wear a top like some of the other mermen do. He has a nicely toned body and he knows it. Fin believes that beauty such as his shouldn't be hidden. p e r s o n a l i t y Confident- Fin believes in himself and what he does. He may not be very outgoing, but he loves proving himself to others. Even if the task at hand seems impossible, Fin will still do his very best. Curious- Fin loves discovering new things. Being a collector of seashells, he gets ecstatic when he finds a type he's never seen before. This also applies to when he discovers an island or a part of the sea he hasn't been to. Practically anything new to Fin will get him all excited and he will demand to know everything about it. Dramatic- Usually when he is alone, Fin will shamelessly overact everything he does. This includes (but is not limited to): dancing, singing loudly and off-key, talking to himself, arguing with himself, and doing fancy flips and tricks. Kind- When Fin is around those he does not know too well, he tends to be on the shy side, but no less kind. He treats everyone with respect and isn't afraid to help someone in need. Overly Obsessive- Fin tends to be very protective of his possessions. Under normal circumstances, this could be a good thing. However, Fin takes things to the next level by not letting anyone near his collections. Heaven forbid someone touches his things. Be warned, if one gets too close for comfort, Fin will become aggressive and is not responsible for any injuries he may cause. Or perhaps he will simply curl up into a ball and cry. No one ever really knows with this one. Sensitive- Fin is one to take others opinions to heart. Quite frankly, a bit too much. The last thing he wants to do is to offend someone. He will feel guilty for far too long and will most likely leave random gifts for the one that he has 'offended' or 'upset.' Fickle- Fin changes his mind far too often. He is never happy with the arrangement of his seashell collection and will redo the entire thing at least twice a week. Imbalanced- When in his human form, Fin has no sense of balance. None. He will fall on his face every time he attempts to walk. Because of this, he refuses to go into his human for unless it is absolutely necessary. h i s t o r y Frances Von'tale was born and raised off the coast of Seaside. His earliest memory is of the ocean waves singing a soft lullaby to help him sleep. As he grew more aware, Fin began to learn from everything around him. The dolphins taught him to swim, the schools of fish taught him how to find safe places to sleep, and the humans taught him how to be curious. Growing up on his own was never very difficult for Fin, because he realized from an early age that he was never really alone. He has met several spirits like himself, but was never accustomed to approaching them and starting up a conversation. He had always been a very shy one, more apt to keep to himself. However, when he does meet someone, he demands to be called 'Fin', and will resist all claims that his real name is, in fact, Frances. It's best not to bring it up. His curiosity was introduced when he encountered humans for the first time. He had no idea what sort of creature they were, and was very interested in what he would later discover were called legs. He crawled up onto the land once after watching the humans for a while and found out that his own long fin could split into two and form legs just like the humans had. He tried standing quite a few times, but, unfortunately for him, he never got the hang of it and decided to stick to being a merman. It was around that time that he began his collection of seashells. It quickly became his hobby and he hasn't stopped collecting them ever since. "The cure for boredom is curiosity. There is no cure for curiosity." |
